The man let out a huff of frustration at his thoughts, his eyes narrowing in on the card he'd dealt himself. "Looks like the dealers hand is shitty this round, boys. Glad I went all in." Laughter broke out at the table, Silas' eyes moving from the cards in front of him to the male across from him. The guy to the left tapped on the table and like clock-work a card slid onto the table in front of him, Silas' hand sitting back on the deck waiting to see if the guy would stay or ask for another.
He stayed and it was Silas' turn to deal himself cards. Except...he didn't need any. He flipped his lower card. The top had shown a 10 and with the reveal of the Ace beneath it it was obvious that Silas had won that go. A small smirk settled low on his face as he pulled the chips towards himself, while also distributing money back towards those who had also gotten 21. "There's always next time." The cards were pushed towards him as the guys face flushed red, he pushed himself from the table walking off with stiff shoulders. That left one empty seat. He'd wait a few moments before starting the next round in case anyone else wanted to join.
This time it was Silas' turn to chuckle. He noted the chips now in the betting pool, though he made no move to start passing out the next rounds cards. "How do you do it? That's three out of five rounds that you've won so far." His eyes moved to the man at the far end of the table, shrugging as he did so. "It's all luck. What would I get out of winning? It's not my money I'm gambling."
This was true. It was the house money. But that still didn't mean that he didn't get a slight rush of ecstasy from beating some pompous pig who thought he knew how to play Blackjack. No. Silas would only cheat if the guy was an ass like the one who had just left. For no one would notice the quick sleight of hand that he did as he had exchanged his six for that Ace.
